Doctors and Due Dates
This past Monday I went to the OB here at Ft. Polk for the first time. It was really exciting for me!! Granted, all I did was a lot of paperwork! LOL. We did learn that I am 7 weeks pregnant and my due date is February 4th! Now, as I have said before, I think the due date is somewhat ridiculous because its clearly a hit or a miss. Confession: In this case, I hope I miss. I would love for the baby to come on February 5th - that's my grandmother's (memommy's) birthday. She is seriously one of my favorite people and I think it would be so awesome for my child to share that day and have that bond with her. I told my memommy about it and she simply said, "You let that baby come when it wants to come, but I would consider getting on a plane if it was on my birthday." :) I also found out that I will have my next visit on July 11th and an ultrasound on July 18th. I'm sure there will be more exciting things at that visit. So far only a few people close to me are noticing that I have a little baby bump forming. I have not gotten really sick - thank goodness! Overall, I feel great!

Father's Day
Happy Father's Day! I LOVE Father's Day. It reminds me of many wonderful times with my daddy. I am his only little girl...and yes, I am still his little girl! He has been an amazing dad and I know he will be a great grandpa too - He wants to be called G- Diddy. HAHA!
I have always felt very thankful on Father's Day because I get to celebrate it with 2 wonderful men! My step-dad has been around since I was 4...Yes, I was the lucky kid with 2 dads! :)
This year there is even more reason to celebrate! Yes, it gets better! Now I get to enjoy have a father-in-law and Ryan is an upcoming dad!!! Doesn't get much better than that! Ryan has always wanted to be like his dad.
Ryan and I are so grateful for these men in our lives. I know that they have both made a huge impact on our lives...and for that reason - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! We love ya'll!

Our First Home
Ta da! This is us in front of our first home in Leesville, LA (Ft. Polk). It is a 3 bedroom/2 bath townhouse type home with a nice front yard and a pool (neighborhood pool that is - had you fooled didn't I?!) Whoop! I think I really underestimated getting it all situated. There were a lot more boxes than I remember! :) However, it's mostly all done now and Ryan and I are loving it. I know we will have LOTS of great memories in this house. To me, the most important thing about a house is not the materialistic things IN the home, but instead it is the family and love - and we have that covered!

Louisiana Larsens
I finally made it! I can officially say that Ryan and I are now living in the same state...the same town...heck, the same house!! It's fantastic, glorious, and just plain great! Sorry for the excessive use of exclamation points. I guess I'm just a little excited...! :)
I started driving down to Louisiana Saturday morning. Now when I say 'I started driving down to Louisiana' I really mean that my Dad started driving down. He joined me for the trip so that I wouldn't have to drive alone and that I would be safe on the long trip. I'm so glad he came along. We were just so excited (and ready) to get to Louisiana that we pushed ourselves and made the trip in one day! Now, please do not underestimate the difficulty of this task. One day just sounds so easy. However, it was 17 LONG hours of driving with only a few 15-30 minute stops (Preggers over here has to potty a little more than usual). Alabama was the WORST state to drive in just because there is nothing there. But hey, I got to cross the Mississippi River and it was beautiful.
We arrived to my house in Louisiana at 1:30 am. My Dad and I were exhausted. None the less, I was greeted by a dozen roses and my husband! Ryan has always greeted me with flowers when we have our 'reunions' and I was SO excited to see that he kept the tradition alive this time too. It was great a fun surprise. He also had all the furniture set up and most of the boxes unpacked.
Now we just have lots of unpacking and organizing to do. Ryan is still in WLC, so he is really busy studying and doing prep for this class. My dad flies back to NC tomorrow and I am keeping busy here at the house this week with trying to get everything in order - 'nesting' if you will. Stay tuned for pictures of our house AND baby appointment news. :)

Ryan's Birthday!
Happy Birthday to Ryan!!! He turns 26 today! What an old man! We are 9 months apart in age (Ryan being older) and we always make old jokes when it comes to birthdays. :)
In all seriousness, Ryan deserves to have the best birthday ever. He has had a HUGE year as far as life moments go...getting engaged, getting married, moving, getting a house, and also having a baby on the way. :) So many good things! Ryan is one of the most wonderful, kind, and patient people I know. He will never ask for anything and will always break his back to help others - even when he is being taken advantage of. He is an amazing husband who always makes me happy and supports me. And I know without a doubt that he will be a GREAT dad!
Unfortunately, we are celebrating his birthday separately today. :( I won't be in LA until next Sunday. We will have to put off his big b-day celebration until then. He will still get one heck of a skype date - along with the 50 gallon fish tank and stand he got! And I think the baby counts as a gift too...right? Today, Ryan will be shining his shoes and studying. Yes, the joys of being in WLC for the next couple of weeks. He has lots of things to prepare and study for tomorrow. BUT he has the day off and I'm sure he will make plenty of time to talk and hang out with friends and family!

Baby Poll
As Ryan and I have shared our good news, many questions and opinions have been shared about gender - baby girl or baby boy?!?!?! Although we are just hoping and pryaing for a healthy baby (aka - Ryan wants a boy), we would love to know what YOU think! Feel free to vote on the poll to your right ---->. Ps- you have plenty of time to vote, and when I say 'plenty of time' I mean 15 weeks! We will find out the end results sometime in August. Until then, we can just have fun with the possibilities! :)

Ryan and Sarah +1
You know that cute little childhood song, "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage..." Well, that is the story of Ryan and I at the moment. Recently we learned the exciting news that we are having a baby!! I am about 5 weeks pregnant right now and the due date is in the first week of February (I don't really see the point in knowing the exact date because it rarely ever happens ON that day - but that's just me).
Ryan and I are SO excited - words cannot describe. Yes, we were 'trying' and we did want to start a family very soon. We both come from large families and we want that too! :) To be honest, we both thought that we would have trouble getting pregnant. While growing up, a doctor once mentioned that I might have trouble getting pregnant and fertility options might need to be discussed when the time came. Exactly what every girl DOES NOT want to hear. But that just shows that there is a difference between doctors and Heavenly Father. It was the best surprise to see that we got pregnant so quickly!
So far I have had the basic early pregnancy symptoms, nothing crazy. I am exhausted a lot and I spend way too much time in the loo - but I better start getting used to that, from what I hear. LOL. I have my first prenatal appointment when I get to Louisiana and I'm sure there will be lots more information to share as we go.
Luckily our house in Louisiana has room to accommodate a nursery! :) Ryan and I are so grateful for this blessing in our lives and we are grateful for all the friends and family we get to share it with. There have been so many people supporting us already and that means the world to us. This baby will definitely have lots of love!
