Canes Game

Earlier this week Ryan's National Guard Battalion mentioned that they had a limited number of Hurricanes Hockey Tickets available upon request. Free hockey game?!?!! We requested!!! ... And we got!!!!

Now, we also assumed that since they were FREE tickets that they would also be awful seats. Boy, were we wrong! They were right behind the goal! We even got 4 seats so we invited Taylor and a friend. We had such a great time!! PS- Thanks to Granny for watching Blake!

Feeling a Little Sluggish

After I turned 27, Ryan and I started talking about how old and fat and boring and exhausted and sluggish we feel...all the time!

We ran over a bunch of reasons why. We obviously are physically tired because we are working full time, doing home projects, not eating great, and ahem, there is a 1 year old we are chasing after.

We are emotionally tired because of stress, our rapidly life changing past year, money, and upcoming possible future changes. Whew!

After looking at all of those things, it is VERY obvious why we feel the way that we do. All we know are things need to change!!! So, this week we are starting small... just focusing on eating right. Now, don't get too carried away. We aren't going on any special diets! We are just simpling trying to eat healthy and eat normal portions.

We also want to become spontaneous again. Yes, I know that we have Blake. We can only get SO spontaneous... perhaps no long road trips just yet. Again we are starting simple, staying up a little later than 8:30 and going on a lot more interactive dates. We already have a concert planned for this summer and I am hoping we can go see a baseball game soon too.

Basically, we are still young and time flies....so we need to act young while we can because it will be gone before we know it. Then we really will be old and fat and boring and exhausted and sluggish. :)

Instagram Rewind

This past week was a big week... here were some of our random little moments. :)

First of all, it was my brithday! That's right, 27 big years old. Wow! Do I feel 27? Yes, in fact some days I feel like I am 50. Haha. I have to keep reminding myself that I am young and that I need to do as much as I can while I can! Ryan made my bday cake and we loved snacking on it all week.

This is my favorite part of the weekdays. I call is the 3:15 drive home. After a long day at work, nothing is better than looking in the rearview mirrior at this little guy. Pure happiness.

Saturday I went and got birthday pedicures with my mom. It was so much fun. We havent had a lot of girl time recently, so it was nice to catch up on old times. Yes, I picked a turquoise colors. Feeling bold this Spring!!

Blake and Ryan love playing around. One of the new favorite things is to make different noises with their mouths. Ryan was making silly noises at Blake and Blake finally had enough. He thought it was funny to try to cover Ryan's mouth. "Zip it, Daddy!"

Blake decided to try to help out with our weekly grocery trip. When I put him in the back of the Jeep, he crawled to the back and stepped all over the groceries...including the bread and eggs. Oh, boy!!!

Another Year Older

Well, I am another year older and maybe a little wiser. :)

You know, it's really funny how birthdays change over time. When I was little birthdays meant cake and presents and themed parties. Haha, it's kind of cute and silly all at the same time. Luckily I had a family who made a huge deal out of birthdays, so it was always sometime special for me.

Now, there is something different about birthdays. It's not so much about the party and the presents, but about the company and memories. This year, my favorite birthday moment was hearing Blake laugh so hard as I tried to blow out the trick candles on my cake. It's one of those times life pauses and I look around and smile.

Not to mention I have great friends at work who ordered a huge lunch feast. And a fantastic sister who got me the perfect skirt I wanted - without having to ask. And the parents who pamper me with pedicures. All wonderful examples of love.

Speaking of love.... I have a wonderful husband who made me a perfect cake, took me to dinner, and got me concert tickets to an awesome country show for this summer. That will be an amazing night that I am so looking forward to.

How did I get this lucky?! How did I get these amazing people in my life?! Whatever the answer, I am beyond grateful for how wonderful they all make me feel. I have a feeling that 27 will be a great year for me!

Instagram Rewind

About a month ago, Ryan and I finally got our smart phones back!! Yes, I know we are probably the last ones on earth to get a smart phone. You see, I blame it on Louisiana. It was the one WHITE spot on the Verizon map in which a 3G Network was not offered. Awesome.

Anyway, now that we have smart phones again, we are able to use Instagram to capture all of our random daily moments. I thought it might be kind of neat to share these little moments once a week (or at least that is my goal.)  I am awful at printing out pictures, so I figure if it's in our blog book then that kind of counts. Right?!

Blake got to visit with lots of family this weekend...
We took Memommy some Taco Bell and then they had a little play time. Love love love this!!

Then Blake got to Skype with Grandpa Larsen in Utah. The Great Grandparents were also there too. He really put on a show for them! :)

Blake is still learning new things every day. For example...why Roxie eats on the floor instead of at the table with us. LOL!

At school, they are starting a new remediation time with the kids. The basically reward students with a C or above average by letting them buy McDonald's biscuits every Wednesday. We teachers simple just buy them to help ourselves get through the week. ;)

And thanks to Pinterest, I tried a new recipe this week! It was really great, except the potatoes didn't get as soft as I had hoped. Either way, we ate really well off it!

Can't wait to see what this next week brings us! :)
