Instagram Rewind

About a month ago, Ryan and I finally got our smart phones back!! Yes, I know we are probably the last ones on earth to get a smart phone. You see, I blame it on Louisiana. It was the one WHITE spot on the Verizon map in which a 3G Network was not offered. Awesome.

Anyway, now that we have smart phones again, we are able to use Instagram to capture all of our random daily moments. I thought it might be kind of neat to share these little moments once a week (or at least that is my goal.)  I am awful at printing out pictures, so I figure if it's in our blog book then that kind of counts. Right?!

Blake got to visit with lots of family this weekend...
We took Memommy some Taco Bell and then they had a little play time. Love love love this!!

Then Blake got to Skype with Grandpa Larsen in Utah. The Great Grandparents were also there too. He really put on a show for them! :)

 

 

Blake is still learning new things every day. For example...why Roxie eats on the floor instead of at the table with us. LOL!

 

At school, they are starting a new remediation time with the kids. The basically reward students with a C or above average by letting them buy McDonald's biscuits every Wednesday. We teachers simple just buy them to help ourselves get through the week. ;)

And thanks to Pinterest, I tried a new recipe this week! It was really great, except the potatoes didn't get as soft as I had hoped. Either way, we ate really well off it!

 

 

Can't wait to see what this next week brings us! :)

Big Helper

Now that Blake is 1, he has been a big helper around the house. He LOVES to help with the dishwasher. Now, when I say help...I mean he likes to crawl into it and put random things in it. :)

 

 

And of course when you work this hard you get hungry... One of his new favorite meals is Ravioli. He loves it, bit we don't. He gets VERY messy. We now have to make sure that Ravioli night lines up with bath night. 

Bath night.... he doesn't look too happy here, but I promise he loves the bath! In fact, he has started to love the bubbles. He laughs so hard when we blow the bubbles across the tub. Ok, maybe Blake just didn't appreciate the fact that we put bubbles on his had and took advantage of the photo op!?!?! LOL!

I'll Never Let Go

Ryan and I went on a really fun date today. One of the fun parts of it was going into downtown Raleigh and visiting a museum exhibit. That is one of our goals...we are trying to do more things that involve our town.

 

The Museum of Life and Sciences has had the Titanic Exhibit going on for the past few months. We were lucky enough to be able to visit it.

 

When we entered, we weren't really sure what to expect. To be honest, I though there might be Celine Dion singing in the background as the doors opened. HAHA! Instead, it basically just told he story of the Titanic and some of the people on the ship. It was neat to be able to see the different things brought up from the wreckage.

 

We also got a "boarding pass" as we entered. It had the name of a passenger on it with their information. I was a woman from 2nd class. Ryan was a man from third class. At the end of the tour we got to see if we lived or died. I lived thanks to the women and children being put in the lifeboats first. Ryan died. But as I told him, and as the movie says, "I will never let go!" :)

 

Finally...we HAD to get a funny picture! Haha.

 

 



Valentine's Day

If there is one thing we Larsen's are good at.... it is LOVE!!! Here is how happy of a Valentine's Day we had!

I came home to this surprise from the boys...

Blake's Photo Shoot

We were lucky enough to get our amazing photographer (yes, I call her MY photographer, lol) to come a take Blake's 1 year old pictures! We had a blast doing it, and Blake loved it because he got another cake to get messy with. :)

We will be making Blake a birthday book with all of these pictures, but here are a few of our favorites....

Superbowl Sunday

Ryan has been a San Francisco 49ers fan FOREVER. And well...I guess Blake and I are adopted fans. Ryan made sure that we got 49ers clothing for Christmas. And it couldn't have been a better year to get them, because they ended up playing in the Superbowl!!

Blake is 1

Two days ago Blake turned 1!!! I literally can't believe it! Shortly put, ever since he came into our lives, we have never laughed harder, never slept less, and never loved anything more. He has truly been the biggest blessing in our lives. I am not sure how it is possible, but we just keep loving him more and more each day.

We had a small birthday party at our house for Blake on Saturday. It was a nice afternoon for family to get together and celebrate such a sweet little boy. His birthday theme was "Lil Rockin' Rebels." Ryan picked that one out. I had picked out a cute little whale/sea theme, but Ryan thought that was too baby-ish. HAHA! I was overruled.

Blake got to each a cupcake for his birthday. He started off nice and neat. For a second we thought he wasn't going to be very interest. Then it finally kicked in and the next thing you know...he had that whole cupcake in his mouth. Such a cutie!!

 

 

He also got lots of great gifts. I'm pretty sure we have every toy that is for his age. He loved them all...and has not stopped playing with them since. :)

Now, let's see what this big 1 year old is up to these days... I guess I will do his next update at  18 months. Sigh.

• He is starting to take little baby steps.
• He loves the dogs water bowl.
• He has 7 (going on 8) teeth.
• He loves music - and dances all the time.
• He can clap his hands together.
• He hates having his mouth and hands wiped
• He loves green beans!! What kid loves green veggies?!? Ours!!!
• He is STILL working on sleeping the whole night. We are so sleep deprived... maybe one day!
• He is still loves to read and watch The Fresh Beat Band and Blues Clues
• He is slowly getting used to a sippy cup.
• Cars are his favorite things to play with.
• He will get mad if you take things away from him and he lets you know about it! haha.
• He loves to snuggle and we love that most!
